About The Natural Gardener

Located at 8648 Old Bee Caves Rd, Austin, TX 78735, The Natural Gardener operates as a garden center serving Austin in Texas. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as plant nursery, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Garden centers and plant nurseries sell annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, vegetables and houseplants, along with soil, mulch, fertilizer, pots and tools. Independent nurseries often grow part of their own stock and carry varieties that do well in the local climate, while big-box garden departments compete on price for common plants. Wholesale nurseries and growers sell to landscapers and sometimes to the public at volume prices; tree nurseries sell balled-and-burlapped and container trees and can deliver and plant large specimens. Specialty growers focus on bonsai, cactus and succulents, orchids or native plants, and hydroponics stores sell lights, nutrients and systems for growing indoors.

Austin is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Austin follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The Natural Gardener is the best nursery/garden center this plant person has ever visited. It specializes in organic gardening and provides an immense selection of plants with a focus on native offerings, seasonal starts, gardening tools & paraphernalia, bulk items including gravel & soils, seeds, gifts, and so much more. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Everything is of the best quality; some items can be pricey. The space is huge and rambling with sample plantings, critters, child-friendly & photo-op features, and a botanical garden-like atmosphere people of all ages can enjoy.

As someone who just moved to the area, I needed a few pots for my new yard... and somehow I left with THREE YUUUGGGEEE pots and one of the best customer service experiences I've had in a long time! JANICE and ELIZABETH were absolutely incredible. They helped me get the best price with a military discount, arranged same-day delivery, and made the entire process completely stress-free. But what really stood out was their personalities. We laughed, joked around, and they genuinely made shopping fun. You can tell they truly care about their customers. The Natural Gardener has an amazing selection, but it's the people who make this place special. If you're looking for beautiful plants, unique pots, and customer service that's second to none, this is the place to go. Thanks again, Janice and Elizabethβ€”you turned what I thought would be a quick shopping trip into an awesome experience. I'll definitely be back (although my wallet might need a little recovery after those giant pots πŸ˜‚)!

One of my favorite places in all of Austin. I work at the preschool across the street and I love going to the Natural Gardner whenever I can! It’s not just a place to buy plants. It has beautiful spots to sit down and enjoy their magical landscaping. My favorite time to go is in the spring, when their rose garden and bluebonnets are in full bloom. They also have a butterfly garden which I love to visit during the summer months.
